Join an evening flight from Los Angeles International

Cross the international dateline and “lose” a day.
Day 3 Arrive New Zealand
Meet the Tour Director on arrival at Auckland Airport. Early
check-in at the hotel before an afternoon of sightseeing.
Gather tonight for a special welcome dinner hosted by the
Tour Director. Accommodation: Auckland, Crowne

Day 4 Rotorua, Maori Hangi &
Concert
Travel south to Waitomo Caves for a guided boat tour of the
Glow Worm Grotto, then continue to Rotorua thermal region
for a special “Hangi” dinner and Maori concert.

Day 5 Thermal Reserve, Country
Home Stay
Tour Te Puia Thermal Reserve, with boiling mud pools and
steaming geysers. See an agricultural show, then travel to
Rainbow Springs to view the flightless Kiwi bird. Later,
choose to experience rural living with a country family,
enjoying a home-cooked dinner and their hospitality for the
night, or dine and stay at the hotel. Accommodation:

Day 6 Rotorua / Christchurch
Fly to the South Island. Afternoon at leisure to explore
Christchurch, renowned for its elegant gardens, grand
architecture and charming English heritage.

Josef
Board the TranzAlpine Train for a train journey through
spectacular alpine scenery of the Southern Alps, and
continue down the rugged west coast to the remarkable sight

Day 8 Queenstown
Magical scenery presents itself today during the drive over
Haast Pass and along the shores of Lakes Wanaka and Hawea.
Tonight, cruise on a vintage steamer to Walter Peak Station

Day 9 Milford Sound Cruise
Enjoy Fiordland National Park today on a cruise on Milford
Sound. The optional return flight to Queenstown offers a
memorable aerial perspective of this region (own

Day 10 Queenstown, Mount Cook
The morning is free before traveling to New Zealand’s
highest peak, Mount Cook, where the Tasman Glacier flows
down its eastern slopes. We recommend a ski-plane flight
over this spectacular region, which includes landing on the
glacier (weather permitting, own expense).

Day 11 Fly to Sydney,
Australia
Travel via Lake Pukaki, Lake Tekapo and Burkes Pass, through
the plains of Canterbury to Christchurch, and board the

Day 12 Breakfast with the
Koalas, City Sights & Harbor Cruise
This morning, enjoy a truly unique breakfast with the koalas
at a wildlife park. Then see Sydney’s iconic sights on a
tour of the city and its surrounding beaches. Later take a
luncheon cruise on Sydney’s harbor for great views of the
famous Harbor Bridge and Opera House before a guided tour of

Day 13 Sydney at Leisure
Relax and enjoy cosmopolitan Sydney. Perhaps take an
optional sightseeing tour to the Hunter Valley or the Blue
Mountains (own expense), stroll the famous Rocks area or
visit the exclusive Queen Victoria Shopping Complex. (B)
Day 14 Melbourne Sights &
Colonial Tramcar Dinner
Take a short flight to the “Garden City” of Melbourne. On
arrival, take an in-depth tour of the city, including
Victoria Market, Parliament House and beautiful Fitzroy
Gardens. Early this evening, step aboard the Colonial
Tramcar for dinner while traveling the stunning streets of
Melbourne and the exclusive suburbs of Toorak and South
Yarra. Accommodation: Melbourne, Hotel Sofitel for

Day 15 Melbourne at Leisure
A free day to enjoy the many delights of Melbourne. Enjoy a
leisurely breakfast before stepping out to explore this
beautiful city. Stroll along the Yarra River, visit the
city’s many shopping arcades, catch a tram to St Kilda, or
take an optional tour to see the world famous Penguin Parade
on Phillip Island (own expense). (B)
Day 16 Alice Springs, Royal
Flying Doctor Service, Telegraph Station
Morning flight to Alice Springs for a
tour of this famous “Outback” town, close to the center of
the vast Australian continent. Visit the base of the Royal
Flying Doctor Service, see the old Telegraph Station and
enjoy views of the town from Anzac Hill. Tonight enjoy a
special Outback dinner and Aboriginal performance.

Day 17 Uluru (Ayers Rock) /
Kata Tjuta (The Olgas)
Ride a camel this morning at a Camel Farm (own expense).
Continue south to Uluru-Kata Tjuta National Park, and the
Olgas, 36 rocky domes dominating the western skyline. Enjoy
sunset at the rock and be amazed at the changing colors.

Day 18 Uluru (Ayers Rock) /
Cairns
Tour the base of Uluru and hear ancient Aboriginal legends.
Visit Maruku Arts & Crafts Gallery where there is the
opportunity to purchase original artifacts from local
artists. Later, board a flight to the tropical city of
Cairns, taking in the local sights on arrival.

Day 19 Dunk Island
This morning travel to tropical Dunk Island, home for the
next two nights. This afternoon is free to relax and enjoy
the palm-fringed beaches and lush rainforests, filled with
exotic flowers and birdlife. Accommodation: Dunk

Day 20 Great Barrier Reef
Witness the beauty of the Great Barrier Reef and spend the
day at lovely Beaver Cay. Swim, snorkel and join the
glass-bottom boat to view brightly colored coral, giant
clams and tropical fish. (B,L)
Day 21 Kuranda Train, Cairns
Depart Dunk Island and follow the coastline north to the
World Heritage rainforest at Kuranda. See a performance by
the renowned Pamagirri Aboriginal Dancers, cuddle a koala at
the wildlife enclosure and this afternoon, return to Cairns
aboard the Kuranda Scenic Railway, winding down the range
past waterfalls and through the rainforest.
