Day 1 Arrive Christchurch
On arrival, be met and transferred to the hotel. Perhaps visit the Arts Center, the Botanic Gardens, the museum or an art gallery. Accommodation: Christchurch

Day 2 Christchurch / Mt Cook / Queenstown
Travel south, across the Canterbury Plains via Lake Tekapo and view the solitary Church of the Good Shepherd. Continue along the Tasman River to Mt Cook National Park. Consider a scenic helicopter flight over some of New Zealand’s finest alpine scenery. Continue on to the Lindis Pass, and through the Kawarau Gorge to Queenstown. Accommodation: Queenstown for three nights.

Day 3 Milford Sound Day Excursion
Travel along the shores of Lake Wakatipu to Te Anau, gateway to the Fiordland National Park. From the Homer Tunnel emerge into the Cleddau Valley. Join a Milford Sound Red Boat cruise for an unforgettable experience of this majestic fiord. Return to Queenstown.

Day 4 Queenstown
Today is at leisure.

Day 5 Queenstown / Franz Josef
Travel north today via Lakes Wanaka and Hawea. Enjoy the rugged West Coast scenery through the Haast Pass and continue on to Franz Josef. Accommodation: Franz Josef for two nights.

Day 6 Franz Josef
Today is at leisure to explore Franz Joseph Glacier.

Day 7 Franz Josef / Christchurch
Travel to Greymouth and board the TranzAlpine train for a journey famous for its spectacular mountain scenery through the Southern Alps. Travel across the Canterbury Plains to Christchurch, arriving at approximately 6:40 pm.
