Day 1 Arrive Melbourne
On arrival in Melbourne, be met and transferred to the hotel.
Enjoy the remainder of the day at leisure to explore Melbourne.
Accommodation: Welcome Hotel (Standard), Novotel Melbourne
on Collins (First Class), Sofitel Melbourne (Deluxe) for three
nights.
Day 2 Phillip Island Penguin Parade
Get close to the remarkable penguins and wildlife of Phillip Island
today and experience the wonderful nightly phenomenon of the
Penguin Parade. Watch as they return to the beach at dusk after
a day of fishing out at sea. See the large penguin colony enter the
beach in groups as they waddle up the beach to their families
waiting in the sand dune burrows. Enjoy this amazing wonder
of nature as they feed their young.
Day 3 Melbourne at Leisure
Today is at leisure to explore Australia’s cultural capital. Spend
some time shopping, or even visit the Yarra Valley for some
famous Australian wines, or see the Twelve Apostles along the
Great Ocean Road (additional expense).
Day 4 Melbourne / Hobart
Transfer to the airport for the flight to Hobart (airfare not included).
On arrival, be met and transferred to the hotel and enjoy the rest
of the day at leisure. Accommodation: Hobart, Mercure Hotel
(Standard) Lenna of Hobart (First Class), Henry Jones Art Hotel
(Deluxe) for two nights.
Day 5 Hobart – Port Arthur Guided Tour
Visit the historic site of Port Arthur today, a compelling
and dramatic reminder of Australia’s convict past and
the early settlement of the colony known now as Tasmania. Start
with a brief tour of Hobart before continuing on to Richmond,
a village of slate and cobblestone, cottages and manors. Marvel
at the natural attractions on the way to Port Arthur, such as
Devils Kitchen. With the guide, explore the impressive architecture,
gardens and chilling prison facilities all created with convict labor
and survive today. Enjoy a cruise before retuning to the hotel. (L)
Day 6 Hobart / Sydney
Transfer to Hobart airport for the flight to Sydney (airfare not
included). Be met on arrival and transferred to the hotel. Spend
the remainder of the day at leisure. Accommodation: Hotel Ibis
Darling Harbour (Standard), The Grace Hotel (First Class),
InterContinental Sydney (Deluxe) for three nights.
Day 7 Sydney – Sightseeing and Harbor Cruise
Experience the beauty and excitement of Sydney today on a
sightseeing tour and relaxing cruise on the famous harbor. See
the city’s iconic sights, including the Sydney Opera House and
the Sydney Harbor Bridge. Travel to Mrs Macquarie’s Chair, for
breathtaking views of the city and harbor. Pass some of Sydney’s
stately homes and architectural masterpieces, from the historic
Rocks area with its old-world charm to the exclusive Eastern
Suburbs and renowned Bondi Beach.
Day 8 Sydney at Leisure
Today is at leisure to discover more of Sydney. Choose to visit
the incredible Blue Mountains National Park and see the famous
Three Sisters Rock formation, climb the Sydney Harbor Bridge for
a unique adventure, or visit Sydney Wildlife World to see countless
native Australian animals (activities own expense).
Day 9 Depart Sydney
At leisure until a transfer to Sydney Airport for an onward flight.
